Greece Revisited

Greek Village
(22" X 22")
Print
Price $125

This was used as a postcard for the Saratoga Rotary Art Show. Although the title is Greek Village, it is actually Mykonos in Greece. I called it Greek Village rather than Mykonos because of all the stairs and plants it could be virtually any island in Greece. In Greece basically all the buildings, are for the most part whitewashed. The only color that you get are in the doors windows and railings like you see here, and also the plants. What is appealing is the strong diagonals contrasted against the plants, which make for an interesting compositon.

Santorini

Price $175

A panorama of Thira, viewed from near the Atlantis Hotel. When you see Santorini from a distance it really does look white. Although in reality when you get up close some of the individual buildings are off white or cream colored or pastel colored. But when you see it from a distance, they look white. Here you're looking at mostly a cliff with just a scattering of houses on top. I do show the towers which hold the cable car. Most of the cruise ships have two options of getting to the top of the Santorini. One is by cable car, the other by mule. The mules go back and forth up the stairs.
